All Things Stripy

Crocheting stripes is simple and the effect is a glorious flash of colour and texture.  It's a fabulous way of making use of all those spare bits of yarn we have sitting in the bottom of our basket and combining  different yarns together is all part of the fun - mohair next to cotton next to chunky acrylic.....anything goes with this sort of project.

I recently took possession of  a rather 'enthusiastic' (!) Rico Essentials Cotton order and once I had organised it into a colourful display I began to play.

No display of wool can be complete without a little bunting and these beauties take minutes to make!

This little bag only took a few hours to make and was worked in the round so no sewing required!  Using the easiest of easy double crochet stitch makes it a sturdy bag that keeps its shape.

And from this it was a simple progression to creating a cover for my favourite armchair which remains a 'work in progress'!
