Fabric Picture Frame - making use of fabric 'scraps'

For those of us who like to hoard fabric, wool and pretty things in general I'm going to show you some simple little projects that makes good use of those 'scraps'!

To start us off lets put those gorgeous bits of fabric to good use!

You will need:

A picture frame - any frame will do but if you are fortunate enough to have an ornate one then all the better.  Keep your eyes peeled at car boot sales and second hand shops as you will be amazed what's out there.  If your frame is a simple rectangular one this project will transform it into an object of beauty.

A stash of fabric.

A sunny day, a garden table, a cool iced drink and the radio (tuned to radio 4....obviously!!!)

4 hours to spare!

There's no mystery to this at all.

Simply paint your glue solution onto a section of your frame,

Place your fabric onto the glued frame and, using your paint brush apply more glue solution to the fabric  ensuring it gets saturated and that it is stuck to the frame.

Use the paintbrush to push the fabric into all the corners and difficult to reach places.  You want the fabric to completely cover the frame - no gaps!

Continue working in small sections until the frame is covered.

Allow to dry in the sun.  You will notice the fabric gets very stiff (this is a good thing!)

I cut out a pice of board to fit the frame and painted it with blackboard paint to make a handy message board
